The inception of L.D. Arts College dates back to 1937, a remarkable decade before India gained independence under the management of the Ahmedabad Education Society (AES).
AES, which ovеrsееs 20 institutes in Ahmedabad, was founded in 1935 by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in collaboration with G.V. Mavalankar, Shеth Kasturbhai Lalbhai, and Amrutlal Hargovandas. At the same time, while British education prevailed, AES aimed to instill a sense of nationalism and humanism in the younger generation while assisting them in character development and achieving academic excellence. In the evolving landscape of education, our institution remains firmly rooted in the vision and principles set forth by our founding fathers.
AES played a pivotal role in establishing the L.D. Arts as one of the pioneering grant-in-aid colleges. Our institution boasts one of the most lush and verdant campuses, founded by Shеth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai and named in honour of his father, Lalbhai Dalpatbhai. For almost nine decades now, L.D. Arts College has been committed to helping the community.
Over the years, L.D. Arts College has solidified its position as one of the largest arts colleges in Ahmedabad. We offer a diverse range of ten major and four subsidiary undergraduate courses, along with seven postgraduate programs. Furthermore, we take pride in housing the city’s largest IGNOU centre.

Within our array of subsidiary subjects, we take pride in offering two distinctive courses in Advertisement & Health Management and Office Management, which no other collеgе in the city offers. L.D.
